As the wind hit an old run-down log cabin, it made a whacking noise. A man was sitting in that cabin reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. He had heard a knock on the door. He went to answer it, and to his surprise no one was there. He heard the knock again and when he answered the door again he found no one was there. Ten minutes after the knock on the door, there was booming lightning in the sky.
Over the lightning he heard the words, "Thief, give me back the wind to the north gate. I need the fallen wind.”
He thought it was nothing and went to bed. He awoke the next morning to find his cabin had been torn apart. Again, he heard the words, "Thief, give me back the wind to the north gate. I need the fallen wind."
The man was not sure if he had stolen something by accident. After all, he had been living there for twenty years.
As such, he asked, "What is this “fallen wind”, if I may ask?"
A voice responded, "The fallen wind is your heart. Your heart is the only solid heart on Earth. Your heart will end eternal rainstorms, non-stopping blizzards, and every problem that has to do with the weather. , my good man, are the falling heart."
The man had surrendered himself to the voice and was promised eternal happiness in heaven. The man was eighty-six when his heart was passed on to the north gate.
He had never found love until now. He loved what he had done for the Earth. That’s why he was the fallen wind.
